1. Learn your student’s name.
  2. Establish authority from the beginning.
  3. Be overly prepared.
  4. Always consider the learner’s need.
  5. Find out what learners already know.
  6. Be knowledgeable about grammar.
  7. Be knowledgeable about the learner’s
  8. Do not assume that your class textbook/template has the language that your students need or want to learn.
  9. Do not neglect useful vocabulary teaching.
  10. Do not teach linguistics and or phonetics.
  11. Do not leave the learner’s in the dark.
  12. Be enthusiastic! Do not just do it for the money.
  13. Speak up but do not break anyone’s eardrum.
  14. Do not talk too much.
  15. Do not loose your cool.
  16. Do not overcorrect.
